Are Your Dock Lines Looking
Good?…
The
ICW is currently down
several feet in draft, and
the Barge canal is a little
more shallow than normal.
Please ensure that your dock
lines are properly set for
these conditions and are in
good shape. |

While You’re At It…
Continue to check your
batteries, bilge pumps and
electrical cords. With the
Cooler temperatures and
Winter Just ahead, Cooler
exerts it’s influence on
batteries. You can help
extend battery life by
keeping terminals clean and
water levels full. If your
batteries fail to hold a
charge, or need jumped to
start your engine(s), it’s
time to consider replacing
them. Check bilge pumps for
clean strainers and proper
operation of the pump float
switch. Power cords should
be checked for corrosion,
overheating and proper
working condition of the
sealing collar.
TURN OFF POWER AT THE
PEDESTAL,
and then check both ends of
the cord(s) and the boat
powers inlet. If there are
any signs of overheating,
the connector needs to be
replaced immediately. Check
the collar for proper fit
and that it is not cracked.
